Due to my extended absence, my domain name for the blog expired and got bought by someone with the intention of selling it back for more than it is worth to me. So, the new URL for the blog is neanderthalsjournal.net. The new site should be up an running within the next two or three days.
It’s been well over a year since I’ve posted to the blog. Thank you to those of you who are still subscribed and/or check back for new posts. I haven’t really mentioned the reason for my absense in a post, which looking back, I should have done.
About four months after I started the blog, I left the credit union I had worked for for nine and half years and made a switch to working for a public accounting firm here in Columbus, Ohio. After about eight months, my role changed, and I found that I would need to sit for the CPA exam to be able to have any real career advancement in the public accounting industry. To do that, I needed to go back to school and get an accounting degree to qualify to sit for the CPA. I started back to school in April 2014 and continued April – December for the past two years.
I am VERY HAPPY to announce that I finished my last class yesterday, December 19.
I am looking forward to having more time in the shop on the weekends and sharing my experiences on the blog. I will likely have to take a break later in 2016 as I study for the CPA, but I plan to still have some shop and blog time.
Until next time. . .
